Creating a fun, engaging digital platform for a multi-sport corporate championship

Sport for Business partnered with GloHealth to launch a multi-sport, inter-company championship running over six weeks. The event featured five different sports, bringing together companies from across Ireland in an energetic, team-driven competition. To support the championship, they needed a digital platform that would communicate schedules, results, team information and event updates, while capturing the fun, social spirit at the heart of the competition. I led the design and development of the website, working with a team of designers, developers and content creators to bring the digital experience to life.

  • The championship needed an online presence that would appeal to a wide audience, from seasoned sports enthusiasts to office teams signing up for a bit of Friday fun. The challenge was to create a website that felt exciting, inclusive and easy to use, with clear navigation, accessible information and strong visual impact. The platform had to organise a large amount of event content in a structured, intuitive way while still reflecting the energy and friendly competitiveness of the championship.

  • Working closely with Sport for Business and GloHealth stakeholders, we began with a discovery phase to understand user needs, event logistics and communication priorities. We mapped out audience expectations, reviewed comparable sports and event platforms, and clarified the content architecture required for teams, fixtures and results.

We then developed a clear sitemap to define user flows and structure the content in a logical, intuitive way. Wireframes allowed for rapid exploration of layouts and interactions, enabling us to test concepts early and refine the experience before moving into final design.

The final user interface combined bold typography, energetic colours and strong imagery to communicate the excitement of the event. The responsive design ensured the site worked seamlessly on mobile — essential for users checking updates on the go. Clear calls-to-action guided participants to register, explore fixtures, and follow results throughout the six-week championship.

  • The completed platform successfully supported the championship, delivering a fun, engaging and easy-to-use digital experience that enhanced participant involvement and simplified access to event information. The clear structure and vibrant design increased usability, while the overall digital presence strengthened the championship’s sense of community and professionalism.
